Apple finally released the much awaited iPhone SE (Yes it’s still called the SE and NOT the SE2) on April 15, 2020. Due to the social distancing guidelines in place no physical launch event was held, the phone was released online. The phone will be available for pre-order starting 5:00am PDT Apr 17, 2020. And you can expect to get the phone starting April 24, 2020. (As per the information available on Apple.com)
The SE is available in White, Black and (Product)Red. Pricing starts at $399 for 64GB, $449 for 128GB and $549 for 256GB versions respectively. The new iPhone SE has a 4.7″ Retina HD Display. Wide angle single camera. The design is the same as an iPhone 8, which means it still has a ‘Home’ button, and therefore comes with a fingerprint scanner. Face ID is not available for the SE. Infact the SE is now the only newly avaiable iPhone which still has the older design with a home button as Apple is no longer offering to sell the iPhone 8 & 8Plus through Apple.com.
The SE does not have a headphone jack and comes with only a lightning port which is used both for charging the phone as well as the Apple earpods. All new models of the iPhone now come without a traditional earphone jack. It however carries the A13 processor which is the same as the iPhone 11, so it definitely packs a punch. We will definitely know more when people get their hands on the new iPhone later this month.
